The Royal Oak village
public house is situated
in the centre of
Barcombe Village has
been run by Mike &
Caroline
Austen since 1983, their
aim has always been to
run it as a traditional
pub. They sold the
freehold to Local
Brewery Harveys & Son of Lewes,
in 2007 but still
continue to the run the
public house in a very
successful partnership
with Harveys Brewery. |

One of the most popular
parts of this pub is the
skittle alley which is
almost unique in this
part of Sussex it is
available to hire for
clubs, businesses and groups
seven days a week
morning or evening. |

|
|
The alley can also be
dismantled and the room
can then be used for
wedding receptions,
birthday parties,
company meetings and
Christmas functions etc.
It also has a music
system screen and
projector and Wii games are
also available. |

|
|
|
|
There are other
traditional
pub games
available, shove,
halfpenny, table top
skittles, toad in the
hole, dominoes etc and a
beer garden with games
that the children can use. |

|
|
The Royal Oak serves a
great range of food,
from
Bar Snacks to
Restaurant meals and
there is also a special
Children's Menu
available. Most items on
the menu are home made
with supplies bought in
fresh from local
suppliers wherever
possible and cooked by
Mike, the landlord who
also run the kitchen on
a full time basis. |
